Introducing ISTE (International Society for Technology in Education) Certification

Event Details

The Vermont Learning Collaborative is joining forces with (CES) the Collaborative for Educational Services in Northampton MA to offer this technology integration opportunity.

Technology integration shouldn’t be about the tool–it should be about the learning. In this competency-based program, you will explore what it means to transform learning and improve student outcomes through the thoughtful and engaging use of technology.

During the ISTE Certification process, educators will deeply engage with the ISTE standards and pedagogy that transforms learning. We will move beyond tools into an exploration of using technology to empower and inspire students.

In Phase 1, you will come together with other educators for two days in a face-to-face learning environment to deepen your understanding of the standards (ISTE Standards for Students and for Educators) and explore how technology can be used to create lively and engaging learning environments.

In Phase 2, you will continue your learning over the next five weeks online, engaging with your colleagues from the course and creating artifacts of your learning that you can use immediately in your classroom.  Following the online portion of the program, you will enter Phase 3, the 6-month portfolio phase. In this phase, you will apply your learning to create artifacts and reflections into a competency-based portfolio in order to earn the ISTE Certification.

The ISTE Certification recognizes educators who understand how to use technology for learning in meaningful and transformative ways in classrooms and schools.

This course is open to K-12 classroom teachers, librarian/media specialists, technology educators, tech integrationists, instructional coaches, and administrators.

CES has been selected to become an authorized provider of the ISTE Certification for Educators course due to our commitment to high-quality professional learning and our belief that technology has the power to transform the way we teach and the way we learn.

Here are some quotes from past participants of CES ISTE Certification for Educators course:

  • I am walking away today feeling excited and ready to begin bringing these standards to my district.
  • I loved the exercises that we used. It was great modeling of different activities to use with students–and teachers. Many of them I had never done before. Very engaging.
  • Loved the passion that Casey and Suzanne had for teaching the course, ISTE, and technology integration in education.
  • The facilitators were very enthusiastic, empathetic, and knowledgeable. The lessons and activities were engaging and inspiring.

We hope you will join us for this fantastic opportunity.
