All Kids: Making Classroom Content Comprehensible to Children in the Language and Poverty Gap

Event Details

ALL KIDS presents best practices plus a researched based lesson delivery system, SIOP, to assist educators in providing equitable access to academic content for all students.

This course will demonstrate the differences in literacy development for English language learners, as well as the process of second language acquisition. Teachers will use curriculum from their own classrooms as a base for SIOP lesson planning.

Simulations, hands on learning, panel presentations, film and readings will all be employed to define, and understand the educational gap for students living in poverty, and from diverse cultures.
