About Us

The Learning Collaborative was built upon several earlier cooperative efforts serving education in southeast Vermont. The Collaborative, which is a non-profit corporation, opened its doors in 2002.

Since then, state and federal grants have allowed us to develop a service area covering the twelve southeast Vermont supervisory unions, reaching over two thousand Vermont teachers, with many programs open to New Hampshire and Massachusetts teachers as well. The Vermont Department of Education designated us as one of six Education Service Agencies in the state in 2003. With a reduction in this number to three in 2013, we became partners with Champlain Valley Educator Development Center and the Lamoille Area Professional Development Academy as the three Educational Service Agencies in Vermont.

The southeast superintendents and their curriculum coordinators provide essential guidance for this effort.
